In the name of the most compassionate
Yesterday, I saw the Devil
He had spread his stuff somewhere around the square,
selling deception.
People had gathered up around him,
racketing and pushing one another , asking for more…
He hadn’t missed a thing, there was everything in his stuff:
arrogance, greed, lie, crime, and everything.
People bought things and for each,
gave something in return.
Some gave a part of their hearts
And some, a part of their souls.
Some gave him their faith
And some gave him their freedom.
Devil was laughing, his mouth stinking like hell, making me sick.
It was like he’d read my mind cause he smirked and said:
I didn’t go after nobody! I’ve just spread my things on a corner.
I’m whispering softly. I don’t make a lot of noise,
neither do I force anybody to buy things from me.
See? People themselves wish to gather up around me.
Then he drew his head closer :
“but, you’re different. You’re smart and faithful. Being smart and faithful spares one.
But they, they’re naïve and hungry.
They’re easily deceived for almost anything.
I lingered there for hours. suddenly my eyes met a prayer box among all those things. I nicked it quickly and put it in my pocket, thinking : now let somebody steal something from Devil if only for once.
